Interesting Statement on Nehru's India

Dr Prannoy Roy (Co-founder of NDTV) was/ is believed to be a Pro Congress all these years. Current Government (2014 till April 2019) had charged NDTV / Dr Roy for tax evasion and other matters.

Introduction about Dr Pannoy Roy for those who are ignorant:

Prannoy Roy has been synonymous with elections since 1980. He pioneered opinion polls in India and introduced psephology to the country. His polls and commentaries are valued for their objectivity and precision. He is also the co-founder of NDTV .(Source: The Hindu newspaper)

In an interview with The Quint a very stunning statement from Dr Roy opens up question of why initial Governments of India i.e. Indian National Congress was getting elected year after year from 1947 to 1977.

Now what Dr Roy (believed by many as Pro Congress) states:

Starting from 01:49
“loved talking about I think elections  have changed very dramatically in India ever since the first election in 1952 till now it's a total sea change the voter in the first 25 years after 1952 from 52 to 77 used to vote back government's 80% of the time that means it was Pro incumbency you could be elected you could not appear at your constituency spend the time in Delhi corridors of power go back five years later and they'd vote you back why because it was the era of the trusting voter bit naïve and full of hope the hopeful voter because he saw independence being in there getting its independence and he thought now we are really on the move unfortunate when 25 years as later things change dramatically because she felt letdown over those 25 years that kept voting them back but they kept doing nothing so from 77 to 2002 the next 25 years was the angry voter and more than 70% of governments were thrown out they were just furious at what at the lack of development in their villages and their towns and they would not even distinguish between a good or bad or average government they would throw them..”
Ends at 02:47

Surprising to hear from Dr Roy following words about then Governments i.e. Indian National Congress from 1947 to 1977:

1. Voters felt let down
2. Elected representatives did nothing
3. Furious voters
4. Lack of Development in the villages and town
