Interesting Difference

We have always remarked that get your work done at rocket speed. Others remark that your progress should be on a speedy track. Yes the context of the statement is understandable.

However a recent study of a note in The Farnam Street, revealed one important aspect of speed. I wish to reproduce the small section from the blog:

"Velocity and speed are different things. Speed is the distance traveled over time. I can run around in circles with a lot of speed and cover several miles that way, but I’m not getting anywhere. Velocity measures displacement. It’s direction-aware."
